Thomas Müller Extends Vancouver Whitecaps Stay Until June 2027
Vancouver Whitecaps have secured Thomas Müller’s future through June 2027, extending the stay of the German forward after a first season in which he helped drive the club to silverware and its first MLS Cup final.
Müller commits to Vancouver
- Müller joined the Whitecaps on a free transfer in the summer of 2025 following his Bayern Munich career.
- The World Cup winner quickly became a central figure at BC Place, leading Vancouver’s attack during an influential debut campaign.
- Vancouver have now confirmed a new deal that will keep the veteran attacker with the club until June 2027, covering the end of next spring’s Sprint Season.
The 36-year-old said the reception he has received in Vancouver, both within the squad and across the city, played a major part in his decision to remain.
He said he had enjoyed his time with the Whitecaps from the outset and felt welcomed by the city and the club. Müller also pointed to Vancouver’s attacking, possession-led approach and the growing enthusiasm around the team as reasons to continue the project.
The forward said he still relishes playing every week, feels physically well and is looking forward to pursuing more success with the club this year and during the Sprint Season.
Strong first-year return
Müller’s first campaign brought Canadian Championship success and a place in the MLS Cup final, where Vancouver finished second to Inter Miami. He has recorded 19 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
