The Crew Motorfest Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 With Game-Key Card

Ubisoft is reportedly preparing a Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Crew Motorfest, and the release could include a physical option packaged on a Game-Key Card rather than a traditional cartridge.

Release window, platforms, and editions (reported)

Item Details
Switch 2 version availability Set to launch on October 8
Price $49.99 / £44.99 / €44.99
Physical format Game-Key Card (Nintendo’s cheaper physical alternative)

Details are coming from billbil_kun via Dealabs, with the Switch 2 edition currently penciled in for an October 8 release at the price point noted above.

One reason the cost may stay relatively low is the rumored use of Nintendo’s Game-Key Card. This is the company’s budget-friendly physical format: it’s designed to give buyers a physical “something” in the box while still requiring the full game to be downloaded, rather than delivering everything directly on the disc.

There’s another practical factor shaping expectations for buyers: by the time The Crew Motorfest lands on Switch 2, it will be roughly three years old. The racer originally launched on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in September 2023, and it earned mostly positive reception at launch.

As of now, there’s no indication that Forza Horizon 6 is also planned for Switch 2, and there’s likewise no confirmed PS5 release date in the mix. With that in mind, this port timing could appeal to Nintendo players who feel like they’ve run out of racing options after Mario Kart World. Ubisoft is expected to officially confirm the Switch 2 release soon, with further details promised after that announcement.

In our own The Crew Motorfest review, the game was described as a solid, style-forward racer—but with a smaller map that doesn’t quite feel as lively as it should. The write-up also pointed out that multiplayer didn’t feel especially compelling at launch, and that the constant presence of microtransactions remained a tedious distraction. That review landed on a 7/10.
