Tekken 8 Season 3 Confirms Bob Return and Roger Jr. Content at EVO

Bandai Namco has come out swinging after EVO 2026 with a bundle of updates for Tekken 8 Season 3. The headline is the return of Bob as the season’s second playable fighter, plus new content built around Roger Jr., a fresh trailer planned for EVO France in October, and the announcement of an all-new animated cartoon series.

Key takeaways

  • Bob is confirmed as the second playable character coming in Tekken 8 Season 3.
  • Roger Jr. content is tied to an October reveal at EVO France, launching on October 11.
  • Season Pass 3 members get access to Bob ahead of the general release date.
  • Season 3 also adds Kunimitsu (already live) and Yujiro Hanma in winter.
  • A new short-form animated series, TEKKEN! CARTOON, launches July 10 with under-a-minute episodes.

Tekken 8 trailer recreates viral kangaroo fight to tease Roger Jr.

If you’ve seen the clip circulating online of a kangaroo wrestling with an Aussie’s dog, Tekken 8 is leaning into the same energy. In the original bit, the Aussie steps in and squares up with the kangaroo, and the marsupial appears to accept the challenge. The confrontation escalates when the Aussie lands a hit across the bridge of the kangaroo’s nose, leaving it stunned.

That sequence shows up again in Tekken’s October teaser. In the trailer, Bandai Namco lays out the same animated exchange before it ultimately confirms that Roger Jr. content is on the way during the October window.

The teaser also specifies the timing: Roger Jr. arrives on October 11 at EVO France, with Bandai Namco presenting the next phase of Season 3 content as part of the build-up.

Bob Confirmed for August

Alongside the Roger Jr. teasing, the more immediate announcement is Bob. The self-described “perfect body” fighter is returning to the roster after the events of Tekken 7, now with a new direction that also frames him as the “Onigiri Savior.”

Bob’s updated storyline kicks off with him accidentally stumbling into food entrepreneurship while he recovers from an injury. From there, he crosses paths with Kazuya Mishima, and decides to put his growing fast-food empire to work helping people caught in the fallout of Kazuya’s push for global domination.

Timing details are straightforward: Season Pass 3 holders can play Bob starting August 20, while Bob becomes available to everyone on August 25.

Season 3’s roster additions don’t stop with Bob. The season also includes Kunimitsu, who is already out, and Yujiro Hanma arriving in winter—together completing a four-character Season Pass lineup.

Bandai Namco also announced a separate animated project for fans. The new short-format series is titled TEKKEN! CARTOON, launching on July 10. It spotlights popular characters such as Paul, Yoshimitsu, Kazuya, Alisa, and Kuma, presented in a stylized cartoon style. Episodes are designed to be quick hits, with runtimes under a minute.
