Checklists
Sugarcane and Its Yields is the twelfth assignment in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. James Kidd has been monitoring sugar shipments that travel between two islands, and that intel leads you to a plantation that practically begs to be robbed. In this walkthrough, you’ll sail from Andreas Island to Cat Island, along with guidance on takedowns and collectibles you can pick up while moving through the area.
How to Start Sugarcane and Its Yields
To begin, you’ll have to meet Kidd on Andreas Island. It sits northeast of Salt Key Bank, roughly halfway back toward Nassau. When you arrive and dock on Andreas Island, head to the island’s western side, then interact with the objective marker to wait by the shoreline.
Kidd explains that there’s a nearby plantation you can hit, but you’ll need to investigate before you can fully commit. After the brief setup, he provides you with a new piece of equipment. Move with Kidd until he stops near a spot where he crouches above some soldiers.
At this point, it’s a good idea to take a short detour to grab the viewpoint in the southwest before returning to Kidd. From there, your next task is to track down Beckford’s agent, who’s located just to the south.
New equipment and a stealth approach
Before you fully move in, you get a chance to test the new equipment and set up a stealth plan. You can hop along the trees and hang any soldiers directly beneath the branches. Keep pushing along the treeline, then jump into the haystack at the end of the route.
You’ll be close to the agent now. Sneak through the nearby grass to close the distance, and when you’re positioned, the agent will wander off. Once the prompt appears, use it to check what you’re seeing and track where he goes next.
Climb up the plank marked with white paint so you can reach the tree platform. From the branches, move to the far end and either hang or assassinate the soldier below. If you hang him, you’ll probably get spotted and cause the rest of the soldiers to turn their attention your way.
No matter how you handle it, you still need to eliminate the agent. After the fight, loot his body to obtain the Endeavour Cargo Manifest. With that item in hand, head back to the Jackdaw to prepare for the next phase of the mission.
Reach the plantation on Cat Island
Next, sail to Cat Island, which lies southeast of Andreas Island. That journey is straightforward: as you near the island, you’ll automatically slow down, then dock and jump off so you’re ready to grab the key from inside the plantation grounds.
The plantation is heavily guarded. The warehouse is located just east of the dock, but the key isn’t found right there—your route needs to carry you toward the southern side instead.
If you want to wipe out every guard in the Plantation and synchronize the viewpoint while you’re here, follow this recommended sequence:
- Start at the warehouse and listen to the two guards talking outside.
- After they move off, go northeast and take out the patrol guards along the northern side by the bell.
- Follow whichever guard is moving so you can slip into the bushes, then either eliminate him from there or wait until he returns—then get him from the outhouse.
- Whistle to pull the guard by the bell into your range, and drag him into the warehouse too.
- Sabotage the bell and open the chest near the bell, outside the warehouse.
- Move east into the bushes toward the beach.
- Whistle to bring both guards over, then assassinate them.
- Repeat the same idea for the guard near the grass in the southwest.
- Keep going south and jump through the grass to reach the soldier closest to the viewpoint.
- Whistle and assassinate.
- Head south, read the note, and climb up to the viewpoint.
- Dive into the haystack, then travel west through the grass toward the bell.
- Whistle and eliminate the two guards near the bell.
- Go southwest into the next grass section and climb up the watchtower.
- Jump off into the haystack and assassinate the guard standing by it.
- Sabotage the second bell, then take out the soldier on the southern side of the watchtower.
- Continue southwest through the grass and perform double assassinations on the two outside.
- Climb up and go through the window, then move right to reach the balcony chest.
- Climb to the top of the roof.
- Observe Beckford.
- If he walks off, follow him and pickpocket him to obtain the key.
- If he doesn’t, you can double assassinate from the roof and clear out the remaining guards.
- Once the numbers are reduced, only a few soldiers remain to fight.
- Return to the warehouse and pick off the final guards.
When you’re ready, open the warehouse. Edward will raid it with his crew, and that completes the quest.
