Romelia War Chronicle Anime Trailer Announced for October Release
A new anime adaptation is on the way for Romelia War Chronicle (also known by its longer title, Romelia Senki: Maō o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasō Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita), bringing Ryō Ariyama’s light novel story to the small screen. The series follows Romelia von Graham, who after a decisive victory against the Demon King faces betrayal and abandonment—only to discover she still holds a miracle power called “Grace,” able to bring good fortune to those around her. With her homeland overrun and people taken captive and used as slaves, Romelia sets out on an increasingly difficult mission to rescue them, even when she lacks an army, a healer, or funds.

The promotional video positions the story around Romelia’s transformation into the kind of noble figure her situation demands: rising from the ashes to take action and save humanity. After the prince Henri’s remarks right after defeating the Demon King—where he and his allies initially turn against her—Romelia’s path becomes one of persistence. While Henri and others accuse her, Romelia continues moving forward, driven by the need to end the Demon King’s ongoing influence and free those trapped by it.

Production team: direction, scripts, and creative roles
Hiroshi Shirai directs the anime for Atra, with Takahiro Hirata assisting. Series composition and screenplay are handled by Aya Satsuki. Character design is managed by Yoshiko Saitō and Yūta Ōtaka, while Kohta Yamamoto composes the music. Masakazu Miyake is credited with artistic direction.
Novel origins and manga adaptation
Ryō Ariyama began serializing the story in 2019 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Shogakukan publishes the light novel volumes. The work has also received a manga adaptation illustrated by Ryō Kamito, published via Mag Garden’s Magcomi service.
