Rogue Trader Electrodynamic Cenobium Riddle: Solve It With the Right Hymn
In WH40K: Rogue Trader, one of the more opaque secrets is tucked away in the Electrodynamic Cenobium on Rykad Minoris. If you’re trying to break into the hidden area tied to the Data Altar of Sacred Analysis, you’ll need to “pray” from the correct hymn—specifically, by reciting the First Galvanic Hymn in the right order. Once you do, a nearby wall opens and you can grab a chest filled with useful gear.
How to unlock the Data Altar of Sacred Analysis
To reach the Data Altar of Sacred Analysis, explore the Electrodynamic Cenobium on Rykad Minoris. It’s part of the main questline and sits in a side room near the area where you get ambushed by acolytes, so it’s unlikely to slip past you.
Unlocking the altar isn’t about interpretation or obvious puzzle clues—at least not up front. The servitor at the altar instructs you to recite three lines from the First Galvanic Hymn, but it won’t explain what the hymn actually is. Pasqal also doesn’t know. After clearing the Cenobium on a first run, it still looks like no one in the facility is offering the missing information, so the solution comes down to trial-and-error.
Recite the following verses by interacting with the altar and choosing options 2, 5, and 4 in that order:
- “…the Omnissiah, from whom the holy discharge springeth forth” (Option 2)
- “…the arcane key that closeth the circuit” (Option 5)
- “…the immortal reason that hath created the spark” (Option 4)
Once you step back and look at the puzzle, the only real “hint” is the hymn text itself. The word galvanize generally means to spur something into sudden action. Read in that light, the hymn’s lines describe a mechanism powering up: the holy discharge flows out, a circuit closes, and the spark is created.
Electrodynamic Cenobium riddle rewards
When you finish the recitation correctly, a nearby wall will swing open. Inside, you’ll find a chest with items for trading, plus the following gear:
- Arc Rifle
- Pinpointing Visor
What the Arc Rifle does (and who should use it)
The Arc Rifle is a very strong weapon for this stage of the campaign. It deals heavy damage, and its lightning bolts can arc between multiple enemies near the main target. That makes it especially effective for the upcoming fight in the reactor core.
There’s also an important drawback: the Arc Rifle’s shots don’t discriminate between allies and enemies. That means it can be risky for melee-focused characters such as Abelard and Heinrix, since friendly units can get caught in the chain.
Because of how these tech weapons work, Arc Rifles (and similar options) are best handled by Pasqal, who has traits that boost their performance.
What the Pinpointing Visor does
The Pinpointing Visor is an accessory that boosts its wearer’s critical chance by 15% against foes with 50% wounds or less. It’s solid on multiple builds, but it tends to shine on Argenta or a Soldier Rogue Trader designed for burst-fire pressure.
Because each individual shot has its own separate chance to crit, you generally get more value when you’re firing multiple rounds into the same low-health target. It also works well when handed to a retinue’s dedicated sniper, letting them reliably secure crits against enemies you’ve brought down to low HP.
