Rockstar Hints at Custom Dedicated GTA 6 Servers for Creators via New Jobs

Rockstar Games has put up a fresh batch of job postings on its website, and they strongly hint at what GTA 6’s online mode could look like—specifically, the possibility of “fully customized dedicated servers.”

After more than a year of quiet, and with the community starting to feel the usual end-of-wait restlessness, the last few weeks finally delivered some tangible updates for Grand Theft Auto 6. The opening of pre-orders brought details that go beyond hype: it confirmed the game’s price, aligned with PlayStation’s ongoing shift away from physical releases, and also spelled out what’s included in the much-debated Ultimate Edition.

One area that hasn’t received any comparable spotlight in the recent announcements is GTA 6’s online component. Rockstar still hasn’t officially addressed it, even though an online offering feels like a certainty. While Rockstar and PlayStation clearly want attention on the single-player experience, the newest job listings provide a clearer glimpse at what the next iteration of GTA Online could involve.

Rockstar Is Hiring For GTA 6 Online’s “Creator Platform”

That FiveM Purchase Is Starting To Show

A community member on GamingLeaksAndRumours pointed out that Rockstar recently added new roles to its official careers site. These positions are centered on something called its “Creator Platform,” with the postings explicitly mentioning support for Rockstar’s creator tools, including FiveM and RedM.

The descriptions say the Creator Platform is designed to let players access experiences hosted on “fully customised dedicated servers,” where creators can bring their own rules—essentially their own game modes. That’s a familiar setup for FiveM players, meaning the postings don’t read like a brand-new experiment so much as a reinforcement of an approach Rockstar already understands well.

FiveM has been a major phenomenon for GTA 5, so it makes sense that Rockstar would want to carry that momentum into its next major release.

That said, nothing is set in stone until GTA 6’s online mode is officially unveiled. Based on the current public timeline, that announcement likely won’t arrive until next year at the earliest. Even so, the direction here is pretty clear: custom systems and dedicated server support are positioned to matter a lot, and the job requirements even list PS5 and Xbox—suggesting these features could be relevant across multiple console platforms.
