Shadowdrop DLC arrives for Reanimal

While the existence of a summer expansion for Reanimal had been known for months, publisher THQ Nordic chose a surprise release instead of a traditional promotional schedule. The Prisoner is already live as of the time of writing, priced at €9.99.

Alongside the DLC announcement window, a brand-new trailer was published. It leans into the grime-heavy, suffocating atmosphere associated with Tarsier’s work, and it spotlights hostile locations formed from cinders, destroyed ruins, and structures battered by flames. New chapter, co-op support, and more island lore

The Prisoner continues the story with two young protagonists: The Soldier and The Prisoner. In this new narrative chapter, the pair must make their way through abandoned subway carriage runs, deteriorating bathrooms, and burning complexes while being watched over by nightmare entities.

The DLC is positioned as a way to expand the game’s island lore without changing the core DNA of the original experience. It also retains Reanimal’s flexibility for play styles: it can be enjoyed in co-op (local or online) and in solo.
