The proposed extension would add three years to Doué’s current terms and, crucially, include a substantial pay rise. PSG want his salary to reflect the place he has established in Luis Enrique’s first-team plans.
Doué, who arrived from Rennes as one of France’s leading young prospects, has become a regular option in the attacking rotation. His ability to operate in different forward and midfield roles has strengthened his importance for PSG across domestic competition and Europe.
Club officials view the new offer as both a reward for that development and protection for a player regarded as a major long-term asset. The France international has made four Ligue 1 appearances in the new campaign as PSG seek to improve a start that has brought just one victory from four league fixtures.
The player is understood to be settled in Paris and supportive of the club’s sporting plans, creating confidence that negotiations can progress quickly.
