LEGO Pokémon Munchlax Set Revealed Ahead of August 1 Launch
LEGO and Pokémon fans are getting a fresh look at an upcoming set starring Munchlax, with a release date of August 1. The launch is also expected to bring several other LEGO Pokémon products to shelves, including sets featuring Arcanine and Rayquaza, plus multiple LEGO Pokémon Smart Play releases. Pricing has been floating around online for the Munchlax box at $70, though no official cost has been confirmed yet.
2026 has already been a big year for LEGO Pokémon buyers. The wave started in February with LEGO Pikachu, LEGO Eevee, and the Kanto Starter lineup all making appearances. In addition, LEGO Pokémon Smart Play sets featuring fan-favorite monsters such as Garchomp, Gengar, and Mewtwo have been confirmed for an August 1 release. Now, more August 1 sets are coming into focus—this time spotlighting Munchlax, Arcanine, and Rayquaza.
A separate leaked real-world image points to LEGO’s first-ever Pikachu minifigure, a cute new build that’s reportedly going to be hard to get—and likely pricey.
LEGO Pokemon Munchlax Set Finally Revealed

- 757 pieces
- Price: $69.99
- Release date: August 1
First images of the LEGO Munchlax set show the Gen 4 Normal-type Pokémon rendered in brick form. In the scene, Munchlax is placed on top of a tree stump, surrounded by little details including flowers and apple pieces at the base. The figure can also be lifted off the stump fairly easily, letting you display Munchlax separately from the rest of the diorama. Munchlax is one of several LEGO Pokémon sets scheduled for August 1, and new pictures of the Arcanine and Rayquaza sets have also appeared ahead of their official releases.

Which entry doesn’t fit?
Munchlax debuted in Gen 4’s Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, where it appears as a Baby Pokémon and a pre-evolution of the Gen 1 Pokémon Snorlax. Known as the Big Eater Pokémon, Munchlax is famous for its obsession with food—reportedly eating its own body weight in snacks every day. That theme carries into this LEGO build, which includes a handful of apple cores that look like they’re leftovers from Munchlax’s snacking. With enough friendship, Munchlax evolves into Snorlax.
Alongside the Munchlax reveal, new images for LEGO Arcanine and LEGO Rayquaza have also been shared. Unlike the other two new sets, LEGO Arcanine is described as mostly self-contained, featuring the Fire-type Pokémon without additional diorama extras. LEGO Rayquaza, meanwhile, includes a diorama set around the Sky Pillar location where it can be found in the Hoenn Region, plus a minifigure of Zinnia from the Delta Episode in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Compared to the Munchlax set, LEGO Arcanine is set to cost $100 and includes 1,190 pieces. LEGO Rayquaza is listed at $130 with 1,083 pieces. Even with those larger price tags, both still land below the LEGO Pikachu and Poke Ball set at $200, and the LEGO Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise bundle at $650. The LEGO Eevee set, along with several LEGO Pokémon Smart Play products, also remains cheaper than these new releases, keeping the latest wave toward the middle of LEGO’s overall LEGO Pokémon pricing tier.
