- He also pointed to the importance of integrating the club’s summer arrivals.
Mbappe said representing Real Madrid is a privilege and set out his aim to turn his promising opening form into success for the side.
“I want to help the team and prove that we are capable of great things this year,” he said. “Playing here makes me happy, and I understand what it means to wear the Real Madrid shirt.”
The 25-year-old also focused on the need for a united squad as new players find their place in the dressing room. Jose Mourinho’s team are seeking to compete on every front this season.
Mbappe said new signings had arrived eager to contribute to Real Madrid and that the group had worked to make their adjustment as smooth as possible.
“It is good to have new faces,” he said. “They want to help this badge, Real Madrid. We have tried to help everyone adapt so that the whole group moves in the same direction.”
With the August award secured, Mbappe’s next task is to sustain that level and help convert an encouraging personal start into collective silverware at the Santiago Bernabeu.
