How to Get Mascots in College Football 27’s Mascot Mashup Mode
While every aspect of College Football 27 aims for a close-to-realistic football experience, the arcade-style Mascot Mashup mode is a welcome change of pace. In this mode, the teams are essentially the same underneath the hood—what differentiates them is the mascot skin. Each roster starts with 11 mascots, and every one is rated at 99, turning matches into pure chaos where execution and skill are what decide the outcome.
Mascot Mashup also includes a clear progression track. You won’t have access to all mascots right away; instead, the game starts you off with 10 of them, and the remaining mascots must be unlocked individually as you play.
Beyond the mode itself, College Football 27 has also added major improvements to its team-building tools, including the ability to create custom stadiums and logos.

How to Unlock Mascots in College Football 27
- Unlocking every mascot requires winning against the CPU using the matching team in Play Now.
- You can earn all required wins on the lowest difficulty setting and still receive the unlocked mascot version.
- Simulation doesn’t count—wins must be earned by playing the match yourself.
To unlock every mascot, you must win a match against the CPU using the corresponding team in Play Now. That’s the full requirement for unlocking all mascot versions across the mode. The CPU difficulty level does not change whether you get the unlock; you can complete every required win on the easiest setting and still earn the mascot for that team.
Just make sure you actually win the game yourself. You can’t simulate a match—the unlock method is designed to verify that you completed the matchup rather than grinding out results through automation over large numbers of games.
After you unlock a new mascot, you can view it right away in the Mascot Mashup team selection menu, or you can find it in your Trophy Room. As a head start, the following teams (ten total) arrive with their mascots already unlocked by default:
- Georgia Bulldogs (Hairy Dawg)
- Indiana Hoosiers (Hoosier)
- James Madison Dukes (Duke Dog)
- Miami Hurricanes (Sebastian)
- Ohio State Buckeyes (Brutus)
- Oklahoma Sooners (Boomer)
- Oregon Ducks (The Duck)
- Texas Tech Red Raiders (Raider Red)
- Tulane Green Wave (Riptide)
- Alabama Crimson Tide (Big Al)
If you want a faster route, there’s also a shortcut. Select the mascot you want from the Mascot Mashup team selection menu, then choose “Earn through Play Now.” Doing this immediately sends you into the Play Now menu, with the relevant team selected for you.
Subscribers to MVP+ Membership should have everything handled automatically: all mascots are unlocked by default, with no need to grind matches. This is described as an exclusive benefit of the MVP+ plan, one that even MVP Bundle Edition owners do not receive.
There’s also an important monetization note: there are no in-game purchases tied to mascot unlocking in Mascot Mashup. That means there aren’t microtransactions for these mascot characters, so you’ll need to earn them through gameplay—especially since MVP+ Membership itself is not available for purchase at any time.
