Harry Kane Hits 100 Bundesliga Goals in Just 98 Bayern Munich Games
Harry Kane reached 100 Bundesliga goals in record time as Bayern Munich swept Union Berlin aside 7-0, with the England captain scoring twice to move on to 101 in the competition.
The 33-year-old brought up the century in only his 98th league outing since joining Bayern in 2023. He has beaten the previous fastest mark by a wide margin: former Cologne forward Dieter Muller required 129 matches to reach 100.
Quick facts
- Kane scored twice in Bayern Munich’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin.
- His 100th Bundesliga goal arrived in his 98th appearance.
- Dieter Muller’s previous record stood at 129 matches.
- Kane now has 101 league goals in Germany and 152 in 154 Bayern appearances overall.
- He is averaging a Bundesliga goal every 78.3 minutes since his 2023 move.
Kane said he was proud to have reproduced his scoring record outside the Premier League, where he had already passed 100 goals. He credited Bayern’s squad for helping him reach another major landmark.
“It is something I am very proud of,” Kane said. “I achieved it in the Premier League and to do it in another league means a lot. I have to thank the team.”
The striker’s two goals in the Union match also lifted his Bayern total to 152 across all competitions, achieved in 154 games. Last season, he scored 61 times in 51 appearances and has continued at a similarly exceptional rate.
His Bundesliga scoring frequency of one goal every 78.3 minutes is ahead of the rates recorded in the division by Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski and Gerd Muller.
Kane also viewed the emphatic victory as an important statement before the three-week international break. Bayern had collected wins earlier in the campaign, he said, but had not consistently reached the performance level they showed last season.
“We had been waiting for a display like that this year,” he said. “We have won and played well, but perhaps not to last season’s standard. It was good to produce that before the break. We did not want any setback before three weeks away, and the level was high throughout the match.”
Bayern resume domestic action after the break with Kane carrying historic Bundesliga form, while the England captain will first turn his attention to international duty.
