Galatasaray Consider Move for Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes
Galatasaray are preparing a possible move for Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United’s difficult start to the season raises fresh questions over the Portugal midfielder’s future. The 32-year-old is contracted until next summer, although United have an option to extend the agreement by a further year.
Quick facts
- Galatasaray are considering a move for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
- Barcelona, Liverpool and Real Madrid are monitoring Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch, with €50 million discussed as a possible price.
- Tottenham watched Eintracht Frankfurt forward Younes Ebnoutalib in Friday’s 1-0 victory over FC Cologne.
- Bayern Munich would consider selling Sacha Boey for €30 million in January.
- Getafe president Ángel Torres has confirmed the club’s interest in free agent Sergio Ramos.
Fernandes has found form difficult to establish this term and is reported to be frustrated with United’s leadership. A departure could therefore become an option, with Galatasaray ready to test the situation.
United are also assessing Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde ahead of January. The 23-year-old has played only 12 minutes in LaLiga this season and has slipped down Barcelona’s defensive order, while Juventus are monitoring developments as well.
Stuttgart’s Finn Jeltsch has attracted attention from several major clubs after impressing Hansi Flick during the summer. Barcelona have followed the 20-year-old Germany defender closely, but Liverpool and Real Madrid are also interested, and prospective bidders could be asked for €50 million.
Tottenham are looking at further forward options for Roberto De Zerbi and sent scouts to Frankfurt’s 1-0 win against Cologne on Friday to watch Younes Ebnoutalib. The 23-year-old Germany international is on Spurs’ list ahead of the winter market.
Getafe could offer Sergio Ramos a route back into LaLiga. The 40-year-old remains without a club, and Ángel Torres has spoken of interest in bringing him together with former Real Madrid colleague Dani Carvajal, who joined Getafe last week.
Bayern are trying to identify buyers for right-back Sacha Boey after being unable to move him during the summer. The German champions would accept around €30 million for the 26-year-old when the January window opens.
Barcelona’s recruitment work also includes interest in Benfica right-back Daniel Banjaqui and left-back Xavi Espart, who is being tracked by both Arsenal and Tottenham. Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis is another player drawing attention from Barcelona, Spurs and Aston Villa, though his club would only sanction a sale if his €100 million release clause is paid.
Napoli chose not to pursue Gabriel Jesus before the striker completed his €10 million switch from Arsenal to Barcelona. Juventus, meanwhile, are in front in the pursuit of Bologna forward Antonio Raimondo, who is currently on loan at Frosinone.
Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are following Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otávio. Rangers are yet to decide whether to activate a permanent transfer for Stuttgart winger Badredine Bouanani, who is on loan at Ibrox.
Inter are working on a new contract for Carlos Augusto that would tie the left-back to the club until the summer of 2031. Roma have also made encouraging progress in negotiations with right-back Emanuele Lulli over an extension.
Antonio Conte is available for a return to management during the season after leaving his last role, but there has been no agreement with Manchester United despite speculation linking him with the job.
