Demon Slave Manga Anime Gets Confirmed for Season 3 Production

Several anime and manga adaptations have just moved forward, with new season news, fresh TV anime announcements, and additional anthology details expanding the current wave of Japanese pop-culture projects.

Demon Slave gets a third season announcement

The animated adaptation of the Demon Slave manga has officially entered production for a third season. The announcement included a first key visual and an early teaser to mark the next chapter.

Demon Slave’s story, set in 2020, centers on mysterious portals appearing in the world and opening into “Mato,” a parallel dimension filled with monsters that threaten to cross over into reality. Mato also contains a new energy source called “Pesche,” which can grant extraordinary powers to human women—pushing men into a shrinking social role. To fight back, an Anti-demon combat corps made up of girls with Pesche-enhanced abilities is formed.

Season 1 follows Yuuki, a student who is transported into Mato and rescued by Kyouka, captain of the Seventh Anti-demon Unit. Seeing latent potential in Yuuki and needing him to strengthen abilities tied to her own Pesche, Kyouka recruits him as her “slave,” a decision that quickly turns out to bring Yuuki more benefits than he expected.

To celebrate the third-season announcement, Keiya Nakano—character designer for the second season—created a commemorative illustration. The second season debuted on January 8. Streaming availability is listed on Anime Generation, while the manga is serialized on Shōnen Jump+ by Shueisha. As of now, the manga has 19 volumes. In Italy, Planet Manga is the publisher.

More light novels and manga headed for TV anime

A pair of light-novel projects also received anime adaptation movement, alongside a new anthology short-series announcement based on multiple manga titles.

Tsuihō Sareta Shōnin wa Kin no Chikara de Sekai wo Sukū

Daken and Bench Kanase’s light novel Tsuihō Sareta Shōnin wa Kin no Chikara de Sekai wo Sukū (Exiled merchant saves the world with the power of money) is set for a television anime adaptation. The announcement came with early visuals focused on Torao and members of the company Garnet: Rio, Lilith, and Dominic.

In the story, Torao works within the Blue Ring, a rank S adventurer company where he manages finances and enforces strict saving policies. His situation changes after it’s discovered that he used part of the funds to financially support Garnet, an adventurer team. Removed from his role for allegedly stealing resources, the decision is soon shown to be disastrous: despite warnings from Torao, Blue Ring members confront the Demon King and are wiped out. Torao later joins Garnet with two goals—recovering equipment belonging to his former companions and defeating the Demon King.

Daken began publishing the novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in March 2023. A manga adaptation by Sen Higashiyama and Masahiro Itosugi debuted on the Comic PASH! portal.

Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim

TO Books announced a TV anime adaptation for Tōko Amekawa’s light novel Akutō Ikka no Manamusume, Tensei-saki mo Otome Game no Gokudō Reijō Deshita. Saijōkyū Rank no Akuyaku-sama, Sono Dekiai wa Fuyō Desu! (Reincarnated in a Mafia Dating Sim).

The premise follows Francesca, the yakuza boss’s niece who is assassinated and reincarnates as the heroine of an otome game. In her previous life, danger was constant and making friends was impossible—so she hoped for a normal family. Instead, the game’s objective is to win over the hearts of men in the criminal underworld. In the main plot, her enemy is also her fiancé, Leonardo, who disrupts her day-to-day life. Determined to end the engagement, Francesca finds that Leonardo only becomes more drawn to her.

The story first debuted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2022, while TO Books released the first light novel volume in May 2023. A manga adaptation by Sora Gōto launched on Corona EX (also through TO Books) in January 2023 and currently has four volumes.

Yūsanchi! from Yū-hachi anthology short anime

Fuji TV announced that three manga by Yū-hachi—Dekai Hachi, Miseban no Spis, and Ah, Tanuki wa Mō Dame Desu—will be adapted into an anthology TV anime of short episodes called Yūsanchi! from Yū-hachi.

The anthology is scheduled to debut in October within Fuji TV’s Nonstop! program and Kansai TV’s Shunkan Live Toretate! program.

Rarecho (Aggretsuko) directs and writes the segments adapted from Miseban no Spis and Ah, Tanuki wa Mō Dame desu. Gaku Kinoshita (Sumikko Gurashi) handles direction and script for the Dekai Hachi no Hanashi portion. Animation production is credited to Fanworks.

Dekai Hachi depicts the daily life of a creature about 40 centimeters tall living alongside humans. Miseban no Spis follows a mysterious fish, while Ah, Tanuki wa Mō Dame Desu centers on a tanuki rented out to different people.

Yū-hachi publishes Dekai Hachi and Miseban no Spis on pixiv. Square Enix compiled Miseban no Spis into a single volume released in July 2024. Ah, Tanuki wa Mō Dame Desu is posted by the author on their X account and on Kadokawa’s KadoComi portal; Kadokawa shipped the first volume in June 2025.
