Crystals of Irm Gets Autumn Release Window on PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC
Deck13 Spotlight and developer David Schütze have announced a release window for Crystals of Irm, the dungeon-crawler set to arrive this autumn on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. The project leans into a first-person dungeon experience while mixing modern action expectations—most notably a bullet-hell-style approach to dodging—into a perspective and combat structure rooted in 2D grid movement.
Autumn release window across multiple platforms
Crystals of Irm is planned for this coming autumn on the following systems:
- PC
- PS4
- PS5
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch
First-person dungeon crawling with bullet-hell dodging
Instead of sticking to the “fixed” mechanics associated with classic retro dungeon-crawler design, the game is aiming to modernize its core loop. Combat and movement are closely tied, borrowing the sense of urgency and maneuvering associated with bullet hell—an idea positioned as the opposite of the usual calm pacing players expect from traditional dungeon crawlers.
- The game features first-person exploration.
- Combat uses a 2D grid system viewed from above, connected to the character’s movement.
- During combat actions, movement directly influences spell casting and attacks.
- Enemy encounters require active dodging of attack patterns in a bullet-hell style.
Three-hero party questing and an overworld hub
Crystals of Irm also expands beyond the dungeon floor. Players will control a party of three heroes representing the warrior, mage, and ranger archetypes. Their goal is to recover three lost crystals that were hidden in dungeons where many earlier adventurers failed.
- Players lead a group of three: warrior, mage, and ranger.
- Central objective involves finding three lost crystals hidden in dungeons.
- Dungeons are described as the core of the experience.
- An overworld is included, presented in first-person view, connecting towns and areas.
- Characters across the overworld offer quests and additional activities.
Language support: English and German only
For its commercial launch, Crystals of Irm will be available only in English and German.
