Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Third Mission Sugar Walkthrough

“…And My Sugar” is the third mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced, and it kicks off with Stede focused on one thing: getting his sugar back for a serious profit. You can locate Stede by the docks, where he’ll explain that enemy soldiers have taken both Edward’s belongings and Stede’s sugar. This walkthrough breaks down the mission step-by-step, including where to look for collectibles as you go.

Checklists

Before you start pushing deeper into Havana, remember that Stede’s biggest goal is recovery—so expect to spend time using Eavesdropping and stealth rather than open confrontation. The mission’s core mechanics revolve around listening in on guards and using what you learn to move efficiently toward the objective.

…And My Sugar

Stede’s priority is reclaiming the sugar, which means you’ll want to get comfortable with Evesdropping right away. Nearby, you’ll spot two guards with a green ear icon floating above them. That visual cue tells you when eavesdropping is available, letting you gather details tied to your current quest goal.

Move to the stacked boxes and barrels in the area, then crouch to stay hidden. When you’re in position, press Triangle or Y to Eavesdrop and pull new information from the conversation. You don’t have to follow the guards—once a bell rings, the destination will be marked on your map. The objective is in the northeast of Havana at (222,588).

When you arrive at the gallows, use L2 or LT to survey your surroundings and catch key dialogue. During this moment, Captain Mendoza will be highlighted when he comes into view shortly after. Press Triangle or Y to inspect him, and you’ll confirm he’s the person holding the key you need.

After Mendoza steps down, blend into the crowd to avoid getting noticed. He’ll head north, so keep close while using people as cover when necessary. If you lose your cover, you’ll quickly end up in a much larger fight with multiple soldiers.

For your entry into the fort, you have two options: follow his path directly, or go for a safer stealth approach. If you want the stealth route, swing toward the fort’s northwestern edge. Look for a climbable wooden section, plus beams and brickwork you can use to reach higher ground.

Handling the top guards

  • Hang on the wall and wait until the pair talking split up
  • Whistle and knock out the guard who moves toward you
  • Approach the next guard and knock him out
  • Head left and take down the guard watching toward the water
  • Remember the white wall, then climb down and around toward the chest underneath
  • Climb back up
  • Proceed in the opposite direction, toward the viewpoint
  • Jump into the haystack when the next guard isn’t looking
  • Eliminate the guard when he returns to the haystack
  • Climb up to the viewpoint and synchronize to clear the area
  • Head southeast toward the Captain
  • You can pickpocket Captain Mendoza or knock him out
  • Go northeast and deal with the guard by the room
  • Enter the room
  • Step right outside the room, then use the zipline by jumping onto it

The zipline carries you close to Stede. Once you land, talk to him to wrap up the mission and move on to what’s next.
