Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Lively Havana Mission Walkthrough
“Lively Havana” is the second mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it kicks off with Edward Kenway fully committing to his new identity. He’s taken on the disguise of Duncan Walpole and travels to Havana with Stede Bonnet, following Duncan’s trail in hopes of finding whatever he was after. This walkthrough breaks down the mission step by step, highlighting what to do and where you can spot Collectibles as you go.

Before you move, the game effectively guides you into the core objective loop: follow your companion, explore the city, secure gear, and keep an eye out for collectible opportunities. In this mission, those moments start almost immediately after you arrive in Havana.

Reaching Havana and Getting Your Gear
Once you arrive in Havana during July 1715, you’ll be prompted to follow Stede through the city streets. The route is your first real chance to get oriented, and it quickly pushes you toward a nearby weapon shop.
You won’t have to search long before you reach a weapons merchant. You’ll be asked to buy a British Cutlass. If you haven’t looted much yet, don’t stress—Stede is willing to help.
- Stede will give you 1000 Reales.
- The British Cutlass costs 800 Reales.
After handling the purchase, you’ll keep going. The next obstacle is navigation: Stede isn’t particularly skilled at giving directions, so he’ll point you toward climbing the closest church building to find the tavern.
Go to the top and synchronize the Viewpoint. Doing this opens up the map and brings more Collectibles into view, including another Viewpoint located in the southwest, plus several notable buildings nearby.
Stede’s Problem, the Pickpocket, and the Fight
While you’re up on the viewpoint, Stede ends up in trouble. Make your way down and perform a Leap of Faith from the elevated position to land in the haystacks below.
From there, chase the pickpocket who stole Stede’s coin. Keep pressure on and tackle the thief to the ground, then finish the job by fighting and killing him.
Once the pickpocket is dealt with, loot his body to recover the Reales and return them to Stede.
With that sorted, you’re headed to the local tavern—but as you’ll soon learn, peace doesn’t exactly last in Edward Kenway’s world. The mission turns into a brawl, which is a convenient opportunity to practice combat again and learn some fresh moves.
- Sweep blocking enemies — R2 + X/RT and A
- Kick — R2 and Square/RT and X
After you complete the required actions, you can fight freely, but you still need to clear out everyone involved.
Smoke Bomb Escape and Mission End
Your disruption doesn’t go unnoticed for long, and guards will arrive. The good news is that when Kenway looted Duncan Walpole earlier, he also picked up Smoke Bombs—so you can turn the situation around.
Use a Smoke Bomb by pressing down on the D-Pad, then run forward immediately to escape. Keep moving until you reach a haystack to hide in, or until you’ve created enough distance that the mission concludes.
Once you’ve either found a hiding spot or successfully gotten far enough away, the objective wraps up and the mission ends.
