Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Arms Race Quest Walkthrough Guide
Arms Race is a Havana Templar Hunt quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, tasking you with locating and destroying three powder reserves while dealing with guards and rooftop snipers. It’s the third quest for Rhona Dinsmore, the main Assassin contact in Havana.
Checklists: Arms Race
Arms Race is set up as a multi-step hunt: you’ll need to track down all three gunpowder caches scattered across Havana, and each one is defended by patrol pressure from nearby enemies.
Arms Race
Rhona will be waiting for you at the Assassin’s Bureau to kick off the quest. Speak with her to start Arms Race.
Local Templars have been hoarding gunpowder, and Rhona’s plan is simple: eliminate every reserve you find across the city. In total, there are three powder caches in Havana, and each is guarded by patrolling enemies.
Powder Reserve #1
Begin with the nearest powder cache. From the area, climb up to the tiled rooftops to get a look at the courtyard below.
Your first target is an explosive barrel positioned in the courtyard.
Be careful—there’s a sniper posted on the roof watching the area.
From above, you can spot the powder keg directly beneath the awning on the western side of the courtyard.
You can destroy it by shooting it with a pistol, or, if you’re low on ammo, sneak closer and press Triangle to trigger a manual detonation.
Powder Reserve #2
After the first keg is gone, head west to the next reserve. As with the first site, the rooftops are the safest way to approach, and they give you the sightlines you need.
In this courtyard, there are two snipers on the roof overhead. Remove them with stealth takedowns, or use the Rope Dart to pull them down for a quicker control of the area.
The second powder barrel sits under an awning that looks similar to the first one, but this time there are two guards standing directly in front of it.
While you can attempt a pistol angle from distance, it’s typically easier to double assassinate the two guards from above, then ignite the powder reserve at close range.
Powder Reserve #3
Once the second barrel is destroyed, you’re down to the final cache. The third courtyard is nearly a repeat of the layout you just cleared, but with one helpful twist.
The powder keg is under an awning with two guards posted nearby. However, you can drop down through a hole behind the awning to slip in from the backside and get the jump on them.
Still, keep your attention on the rooftops—snipers are present there as well, so don’t assume stealth alone will cover you.
Destroying the third powder reserve completes the quest Arms Race.
