Among Us Update 18.0.0 Adds the New Judge Role and “Anulation” Ability
Among Us has a fresh new role: Judge (Juiz). Innersloth says the latest update adds a powerful ability tied to the next emergency meeting, along with clear rules for when the ability can be used and what happens if multiple Judges are in the same match.
Among Us adds the Judge role in update 18.0.0
The Judge role centers on a new ability called “Anulation,” letting the player eject a specific crewmate of their choice during the game’s emergency-meeting flow. The game’s voting results don’t determine the outcome—if the Judge chooses someone, that person can be ejected.
- New role: Judge
- New ability: Anulation
- Appears in update 18.0.0
How Anulation works (and the risks)
To unlock Anulation, the Judge must complete tasks quickly. Once the requirement is met, the ability becomes available ahead of the next emergency meeting.
Innersloth also laid out an important limitation: if the Judge uses Anulation on someone who is not the Impostor, the Judge is immediately ejected.
Key mechanics players should know
- Use Anulation to eject a crewmate you choose, regardless of how others voted.
- Incorrect targeting has consequences: using Anulation on a non-Impostor ejects the Judge.
- Only one Anulation can be used per match.
- Task requirements can be adjusted in the Delivery Ship Role Settings.
Multiple Judges in one match
If there’s more than one Judge and they attempt to use Anulation at the same time, the Judge who activates it first receives the effect. Any other Judges have their values “refunded,” allowing them to use Anulation again at a later emergency meeting.
What to watch next
With Anulation’s high-risk design and the ability’s one-time-per-match rule, Judge gameplay will likely shift how players manage task pacing and emergency meeting decisions. Next, players will want to test how the adjustable task threshold in Delivery Ship Role Settings changes when the ability becomes available.
