Black Ops 2 Prestige Master Guide: All Ranks, Emblems, and Rewards

Black Ops 2 has 10 Prestige ranks, plus an additional tier called Prestige Master—a long-term grind that’s meant to prove you’re the top-tier player. The goal is a road that can take you all the way toward Level 1,000, and along the way you’ll pick up emblems, progression milestones, and unlocks.

If you’re trying to climb faster in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, one common approach is to run Bot Lobbies to farm easy XP and push your level/rank up more quickly.

Raises the Level Cap to 1,000

If you reach another Prestige without spending your Prestige Token, it will be lost since the tokens do not stack. To avoid locking yourself out, make sure you redeem the locked Custom Classes—you can grab the full set of 10 this way, but if you miss the window, those options are gone forever.

How Prestige Works in Black Ops 2 (Pros & Cons)

Once you hit Level 55, you’ll be able to start a Prestige reset. Entering Prestige drops your progress back to Level 1, and you’ll have to re-unlock weapons, equipment, and perks. The upside is that your camos, weapon XP, and challenges won’t be reset.

Prestige also grants you a Prestige Unlock Token, letting you permanently unlock one item. That choice sticks permanently, so even when you go into your next Prestige, you can still use the item you unlocked earlier.

Prestige Awards: what you can choose

  • Extra Custom Class (can be redeemed a maximum of 5 times)
  • Unlock Tokens Refund (get all your used Unlock Tokens back to re-spend them)
  • Fresh Start (return to a non-Prestige Level 1)

If you make it to Level 55 during Prestige 10, you’ll unlock Prestige Master, which raises the level cap to 1,000. Once you reach Prestige Master, the “Fresh Start” option is no longer available.
