Deltarune Chapter Walkthrough: Hidden Content Checklist for New Players

Deltarune, the RPG created by Toby Fox (the mind behind Undertale), continues to draw players in with its chapter-based structure, choice-driven encounters, and plenty of hidden content—so a new player-focused walkthrough is a handy way to see everything each Dark World stretch has to offer.

Checklists

Developed by Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, Deltarune is an RPG where you control a human character named Kris. Kris lives on the surface, among monsters, and the game’s chapter format lets the story unfold in self-contained sections.

A full Deltarune walkthrough is available, covering every area, puzzle, and boss fight across all four currently available chapters. The guide also lets you jump straight to the specific chapter you’re working on, with checkmarks designed to help you track what you’ve completed.

As more chapters are released, the walkthrough is set to be updated. In particular, the post-credits for the fifth chapter points toward the sixth and seventh chapters arriving in 2027 and after, so there’s more to look forward to beyond the current four.

Throughout the journey, the walkthrough includes notes aimed at secret items, hidden rooms, and even secret bosses. If you want to spend as much time as possible in the Dark World—and not just rush through the main path—those extra exploration tips and puzzle pointers are built for that.

Deltarune is heavily character-driven, with a steady stream of allies and enemies across its chapters. Because your decisions can matter, it’s possible to experience certain chapters in noticeably different ways, including seeing alternate sides of the characters affected by your choices.

The central cast includes Kris, Susie, and Ralsei. Key supporting roles also include Toriel, Noelle, and Berdly, each playing an important part as the story progresses through the chapters.

Beyond the main trio, there are many additional characters to meet and learn about. These include classmates, other residents of Hometown, and even a familiar skeleton who runs a shop in town.

Each chapter’s sections feature distinct enemy lineups—ranging from standard overworld enemies to mini-bosses and full-on bosses. The game also includes a recruitment mechanic, which means players who take a pacifist approach will have a very different experience with enemies compared to players who handle encounters more violently.

For players who want an extra challenge, every chapter contains a secret boss. These fights can be tougher than the usual end-of-chapter bosses, but the payoff is described as “game-changing” in terms of the rewards you can earn.

There are plenty of items scattered throughout Deltarune chapters, including useful consumables, standout Weapons, Key Items, and protective Armor. The walkthrough’s items section breaks down important items separately by source and by chapter.

In addition to standard item collection, Deltarune offers a crafting system. Players can combine two items to create a new one, with the process handled by Smith Malius.

At the time of writing, Deltarune’s story is still unfinished. Each chapter ends with a suspenseful cinematic, leaving room for fans to guess where the narrative will go next. The guide includes an ending explainer that lays out its best interpretation of what’s coming.

While Deltarune doesn’t directly continue Undertale, it still includes plenty of easter eggs and crossover touches for fans of the earlier game. Each chapter includes nods to Undertale, with some moments being subtle and others described as a bit too obvious.

If you enjoy secret-hunting beyond obvious references, there’s more to uncover than just Undertale-style callbacks and secret bosses. The guide points players toward a dedicated secrets hub for additional details.
