Pokemon Winds and Waves Leak Promises 300+ Gen 10 Pokémon, Big Impact

A fresh round of leaks tied to Pokemon Winds and Waves is painting an unusually ambitious picture for Generation 10. The claim is that the upcoming pair of Gen 10 games will introduce more than 300 new Pokémon, a number that would top the biggest new-Pokédex pushes seen in any prior generation. Under this leak, those additions would include both brand-new Gen 10 Pokémon and regional variant versions of Pokémon that already exist—while allegedly leaving out Pokémon that have multiple forms and also excluding any of the newly described battle gimmick forms that are rumored to appear in the games.

Beyond the headline number, more alleged details have surfaced about Pokemon Winds and Waves. These reports suggest a new regional form of Psyduck, plus two new evolutions branching from it. The leak also claims that several other Pokémon are slated to receive cross-generation evolutionary lines. If even part of this is accurate—especially the idea that Gen 10 plans to add 300+ new Pokémon—then another major Pokémon title could be facing a delayed catch-up problem after Winds and Waves launches, since there’s no guarantee the competitive scene will receive that entire wave of new creatures quickly.

One more leak reiterates the central point: Pokemon Winds and Waves is said to include an enormous batch of new Gen 10 Pokémon, described as the largest count for any Pokémon game to date.

Pokemon Winds and Waves’ Leaked 300 New Critters is Bad News for Pokemon Champions

Most of these claims are linked to posts from an aggregator account on X named CentroLeaks. The central fear is that Pokemon Champions—the main competitive platform for many players—may not receive Gen 10 Pokémon at the same pace they debut in Winds and Waves. The leak suggests that after Winds and Waves releases, Pokemon Champions could roll out Gen 10 additions slowly, mirroring how the game has been updating its roster in recent cycles. If that matches past timing, it could mean a very long wait before every Pokémon tied to Winds and Waves is actually available to use in the competitive simulator.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

  • Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-A (launch) — 210 Total available Pokemon
  • Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B — 232 Total available Pokemon

Pokemon Champions has effectively become the go-to destination for competitive battles since it launched back in April of this year. Still, it doesn’t let players use the full Pokémon roster. At present, the available lineup is just over 230 Pokémon out of 1,025 total creatures across the franchise. The mobile release of Pokemon Champions and the beginning of Regulation Set M-B on June 17 each added 22 more missing Pokémon to the roster, but that still leaves the game far short of the franchise’s full National Dex scale.

As things currently stand, each regulation set update in Pokemon Champions appears to bring only a small number of new Pokémon, and the game generally doesn’t jump to a fresh regulation set more than every few months. With that pattern in mind, it’s been suggested that Pokemon Winds and Waves’ Gen 10 roster additions may arrive in a similarly gradual stream after launch. If so, competitive players might not be able to immediately bring their favorite Gen 10 picks into ranked battles, and some Pokémon could end up waiting for months before they appear in a usable competitive rule set.

Pokemon Winds and Waves isn’t expected to land until late 2027, which means there’s still time for Pokemon Champions to accelerate its roster updates between now and then. Some players may welcome the more controlled, steadier metagame that a drip-feed release creates in competitive play. Others, though, may be disappointed if they have to sit and wait before they can use the Pokémon they’re most excited about from Winds and Waves in Pokemon Champions.
