Palworld Cryogenic Coolant Guide: Unlock at Level 31 and Craft Fast

You can start producing Cryogenic Coolant in Palworld once you hit level 31, the point where its recipe shows up on the technology tree. The good news is that crafting Cryogenic Coolant isn’t especially complicated—it mainly comes down to whether you can reliably farm the organic items required to make it. If your coolant supply is lagging, these are the most useful ways to improve your setup.

Here’s how to get the new V1 Armor in Palworld’s Home Sweet Home update.

How to Unlock & Craft Cryogenic Coolant in Palworld

The Cryogenic Coolant blueprint becomes available at level 31. This crafting material is also required for advanced construction projects, including the Improved Furnace, so it’s worth prioritizing this unlock rather than treating it as a side goal.

To craft Cryogenic Coolant, you’ll need:

  • 1 Aquatic Pal Fluid
  • 1 Ice Organ

Aquatic Pal Fluids are straightforward to obtain in Palworld by hunting Water- or Ice-type Pals. Water Pals tend to gather along beaches and the edges of most bodies of water, so you should have plenty of opportunities to farm Pal Fluids. You can also produce Pal Fluids on your base side by assigning some Kelpseas to a Ranch. It won’t match the speed of active hunting, but it’s a steady way to build up stock while you’re busy with other tasks.

If you want a concentrated farming route, head straight north of the Hill of Beginnings to reach Gobfin’s Turf, a river delta packed with Water Pals. It’s a strong location for collecting Aquatic Pal Fluids, assuming you’re prepared to handle multiple Gobfins at once.

As of the time of writing, there’s no passive method to generate Ice Organs in Palworld. You’ll need to either hunt Ice-type Pals or earn enough Gold to buy large quantities of Ice Organs from merchants. Pengullets are among the most common Ice Pals early on, and you can check their spawn details through their in-game Palpedia entry. Later, you can find even more Ice Pals by going to the large frozen island further north.

Finding Ice Organs

If you’re having trouble sourcing Ice Organs, you should strongly consider visiting Duneshelter in the northern desert. It’s a long journey if you’re starting from the Hill of Beginnings, but it’s a worthwhile trip.

Inside Duneshelter, you’ll encounter a Wandering Merchant who sells Ice Organs for 285 Gold each. Merchants also buy items you bring with you, so once you set up a Gold farming routine, paying that price should be manageable. Even if you aren’t fully set up yet, normal gameplay—exploration and boss fights—should still help you earn enough Gold (or sellable materials) to cover purchases.

What are Cryogenic Coolants For?

Cryogenic Coolant is used to craft a range of mid-to-late game items and structures, with the Improved Furnace being the headline use. You’ll also see it referenced in recipes for:

  • Combat SMG
  • Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor
  • Overheat Rifle
  • Electric Heater
  • Large Scale Stone Oven
  • Various other base buildings and tools

Plan for the long haul: you’ll want hundreds of Cryogenic Coolants if you intend to build and craft through those recipes. Because of that, it’s smart to begin gathering the required ingredients as early as possible so your crafting queue doesn’t stall later.
