Moonlight Peaks Guide: Get Fried Eggs for Ludo in A New Beginning
In the “A New Beginning” quest in Moonlight Peaks, Ludo asks you to bring him a Fried Egg so he’ll have the energy to paint the Hendersons’ house—a job Ridge ended up volunteering him for.
If you haven’t spent much time with the game’s farming side of Moonlight Peaks, the steps for obtaining Eggs and turning them into Fried Eggs might not be obvious at first.
You can also streamline your farming routine by leaning into magic, including upgrades via spells and wands—something the game walks you through.
Release and availability overview
The quest and cooking workflow described here are tied to activities inside Moonlight Peaks itself (farming, refining, and using cooking stations). The guide focuses on in-game steps rather than a specific platform release window.

How to Get Eggs in Moonlight Peaks
In Moonlight Peaks, you can farm Eggs by raising Cheekens at a Barn. You’ll have access to the Barn after progressing through an earlier main-story step called “Farm Animals for Sale.” At that point, Cheekens become available for purchase from Luna.
To acquire Cheekens, head to Luna’s farm in Moonlit Pines — located just to the left of her house — and buy Cheekens for 1,200 Coins. Each night, Luna lists a set of three random animals for sale in the fenced area beside her home, and Cheekens are one of the possible options. If you don’t see Cheekens on the first night, sleep and check again the next night.
When the purchase is complete, give the Cheekens a name and assign them to an empty spot in the Barn. They’ll show up in your base immediately.
From there, Eggs are simply a matter of keeping the Cheekens fed. Fill their feeding trough with enough Fodder or Premium Fodder to cover them for a night or two. As long as the Cheekens have sufficient food, there’s a chance they’ll lay Eggs inside the Barn.
Both types of feed can be produced at a Refiner. Regular Fodder uses Fiber, while Premium Fodder is crafted by combining regular Fodder with Mana Essence.
Premium Fodder boosts the likelihood of Golden Eggs, though that’s not something you need for the “A New Beginning” quest objective.
After crafting your Fodder, go into the Barn and place it into the feeding station at the very back. The prompt display will tell you how long the food will last for the animals currently housed there. For getting started, you only need enough to cover about one or two nights.
Sleep in your coffin to move to the next night, then check inside the Barn for Eggs. If any are there, just walk up to them—your character will pick them up automatically.
How to Make Fried Eggs for Ludo in Moonlight Peaks
In Moonlight Peaks, you can cook Fried Eggs by using one Egg at any Cooking Station. A Cooking Station is included by default inside your home from the beginning of the game. If you want an additional one, you can build it at a Workbench using 5 Refined Stones and 5 Planks.

To cook a Fried Egg, interact with the Cooking Station and select the Fried Egg recipe. A cooking mini-game will begin where you must press Space Bar (PC) or A (Controller) when the white puck is inside the red section of the circle. Do this action twice back-to-back, and the game will cook one Fried Egg and add it to your inventory.
Once it’s ready, take the Fried Egg to Ludo. He’ll be working on the Hendersons’ House as part of the quest’s next step.
After you hand Ludo the Fried Egg, he’ll ask you to bring a housewarming gift for the Hendersons as well. No matter what you pick, the guests’ reactions will be the same. Unlike other personal gifts in Moonlight Peaks that can influence relationships, this housewarming moment is a scripted sequence that doesn’t change based on the item’s value. As long as the gift you choose is something you’re carrying in your inventory at the time, you’ll be set.
