Deltarune Chapter 5 Pink Coins: Secret Boss Unlock Guide
Chapter 5 of Deltarune adds a new set of collectibles you can only find in the Flower-themed Dark World. Among them are special collectibles called Pink Coins. Collecting these coins does two things: it helps you unlock the Chapter’s Secret Boss, and it also gives you a choice of six special armor and weapon options that are sold only after that Secret Boss has been defeated.
Checklists
In total, there are 19 Pink Coins scattered across the Flower Dark World areas between the Garden, Garden Cliff, Flower Castle, and the Top of the Castle. You can collect every coin at any point, so if you miss some while exploring, you can use the Fast Travel Doors unlocked at the Top of the Castle to backtrack to earlier locations.
Below is a complete list of where each Pink Coin can be found.
There are 4 Pink Coins located in the Garden section of Chapter 5’s Dark World.
Garden River Pink Coin Location
- Nearest Fast Travel Door:
This first Pink Coin is available fairly early. Look for it in a chest in the Gardens once you’ve found the Watering Can. You’ll need to reach the can after progressing past the locked door north of the big room packed with cutting scissors trimming flowers. After you obtain the Watering Can, return to the scissors room and hang to the left side.
If you’d rather go straight for it, head left toward a darkened trail. Pour water onto it to form a pathway leading west. Follow the dark river along—its “waves” are actually birds—and at the top you’ll find the first of several special Treasure Chests containing a Pink Coin.
Shrine Pink Coin Location
This Pink Coin becomes accessible after you first receive the Petal Feather from the large shrine at the back of the Gardens. Getting the feather requires defeating Aqua first.
Once you can switch into side-scrolling action platforming, go left from the Shrine to spot a tall vine stalk with leaves you can climb by jumping up. At the very top, strike a bell cluster hovering above the highest platform.
You can also jump to the right from the leaf you used to hit the large bell. That action takes you to the next screen, where you can run across the top of the Shrine and jump right again into a higher area featuring two leaves and a pink bell. Strike it to obtain a new Pink Coin.
Starwalker Bird Pink Coin Location
With the Petal Feather’s action platforming ability, head back to the large room to the right of Hopschef. Look for a structure that changes the room layout so you can see large vines to the right that you can cut away.
Continue moving right until you find a spot where Ralsei can latch on. Use that to bounce up through platforms, traveling back left to a high platform. From there, you can return to normal movement and enter a doorway.
Inside, dash across a long pool of water. As you go, a Starwalker Bird from Chapter 1 will appear and fire patterns made of projectiles. You’ll need to alternate quickly between moving up and down to dodge, in a style reminiscent of an old Battletoads challenge. Once you reach the opposite side, ring the bell to uncover another Treasure Chest containing a Pink Coin. If you’ve been encountering Starwalker in earlier chapters, you may also run into a Tropical Starwalker while heading back.
Way Home Pink Coin Location
Using the Petal Feather, you can chase after Flowery on the high vine stalk in the “Way Home” area that the Fun Gang refuses to take. Even so, you can still grab a Pink Coin before leaving the Gardens entirely.
Before climbing up to reach Flowery, keep going left. You’ll be able to cross a long body of water and reach a Pink Bell on the far side that you could see earlier. Have Susie hit it to reveal one more Pink Coin.
There are 4 total Pink Coins in the Garden Cliffs section of Chapter 5’s Dark World, with the last one being best saved until after you can fast travel back.
Cliff Cavern Pink Coin Location
After you deal with a few additional books, a larger purple book appears. This one is tougher than the others and summons rotating damaging letters around it inside a protective barrier. Jump over the spinning letters in short hops so you can strike the book itself—remember, Kris’s only hitbox is the heart, not their full outline. Use Susie’s Stunbuster ACT to freeze the book in place as it tries to drift around the arena.
Once you defeat it and collect some Flowery Dollars, jump up left to find a structure that lets you return to normal movement. Before you do, search for a root on the left where Ralsei can hook on. That lets you reach one final platform with plants you can slice.
Then drop down the shaft beneath the hooked root to spot a pink bell. Ralsei extends downward while still attached, allowing you to hop on and rocket back up. From there, jump into the alcove and attack the bell to reveal a new Pink Coin.
Peach Farm Pink Coin Location
Before fighting that enemy, head left instead to find a shaded route with a friendlier NPC overlooking their farm. Keep moving left to find vines you can climb, along with a warning sign about falling peaches and “not rocks.” Climb up and use your climb dash to burst through the peaches as you move between vine sections. When you start seeing darker falling objects, avoid smashing into them—only break the lighter-colored fruit.
Following the vine path lets you drop onto a high ledge that contains a cave with another blacksmith-like NPC named Ferroll. Like Malius, he offers to show his strength, but instead of healing you, he squashes the party or any money you hand over. Oops.
Back outside, check the right side for a bunny buried in the dirt. Pull it out to reveal a vine shortcut back down, plus another vine route that climbs straight up. Follow the vine path back east, and you’ll arrive at a high position where falling water drops you down into yet another Pink Coin.
Gusty Room Pink Coin Location
In this section, jump off the umbrella darkener to shoot up into a higher arena. There you’ll fight two of Seth’s large book Bullet Patterns. As before, stun them using Susie’s ACT, then get in close to land your hits before quickly backing out to avoid the rotating letters around the edges. After you clear a handful of smaller patterns, a final larger book appears with two different sets of rotating letters. Landing attacks through these can be difficult, so time your strikes using Susie’s stun window to maximize your damage.
Your reward sits just to the right. There’s an NPC who looks unable to reach the cheese they want, and above them is another pink bell you can ring to claim a Pink Coin. To leave, jump off the other umbrella to be launched upward and return to the room with a pinwheel you can activate to travel to the far side.
Umbrella Cave Pink Coin Location
After you obtain the Mysterious Key, warp to the Netskie Climb Door and head right across the vines to reach the cavern area where you previously chased Seth and Aqua. From there, you’ll enter a section where you run through a Tori Gate and then platform across multiple jumps while collecting coins along the way.
When you dash into the next area, you’ll end up below the castle—an earlier gust accidentally sent you, Aqua, and Seth upward. Since they aren’t around anymore, keep running right into a new room. As soon as you enter, jump quickly to clear the gap. You’ll slam onto the far side at a high ledge where the last Pink Coin is waiting.
There are 9 Pink Coins in the Flower Castle section of Chapter 5’s Dark World.
Punishment Room Pink Coin Location
In the second unlocked Yellow Door room, you’ll see Aqua and Seth working on notes as they renovate the Punishment Room. After Yellow appears, they run off—so be sure to grab the PerpBook Seth leaves behind to add it to your Evidence key items.
Go left to find a spot where you can switch into action platforming mode. Then double back right past where you found Seth and Aqua and jump into a secret room. Inside, you must carefully bounce upward using trampoline flowers. Hit them when you’re centered (or nearly centered) so you bounce upward instead of ricocheting off to the sides.
As you progress, you’ll need to hit the flowers in a specific order so the next one blooms. This sequence carries you all the way up to one of the Pink Coins at the top.
Jail Pathway Pink Coin Location
Outside the Left Doors, Blue finally opens up their route and passes through. Before you go after them, you may want to quickly sprint west to a room with a structure that switches you into action platforming mode. There’s one final Evidence item here as well: the Bluestring.
When you exit, you’ll be on an exterior path leading back to the Jail. Before taking the route upward, look for stairs that go down to a concealed spot. In that area, a structure lets you switch into action platforming mode, where you can jump and dash left to dodge an army of shuriken-throwing Shinobeetles. Once you reach the far side, you’ll be rewarded with a new Pink Coin.
East Castle Screen Door Pink Coin Location
Before going past where Terakota statues were blocking the way, return upward through the screen and move right. Look for stairs heading north. In the next room, there’s a chest behind another screen (with a figure on the right). Move up and around to open the Treasure Chest from the side, letting you collect a new Pink Coin.
Castle Entrance Pink Coin Location
After spying on Yellow behind the screen, look down the stairs to find another Treasure Chest that’s out of reach. If you already pushed the Terakota statues down in the previous room, you’ll find them all sitting on a platform just to the left.
To reach the chest, go back through the cafe to the main castle entrance, then head south to exit the castle. Travel all the way to the right until you find an open door that wasn’t available earlier when you first arrived past the Dark World exit. Enter that room to reach the area where the statues were pushed. You can push them upward one at a time until they all sit on the pressure plates. Doing so unlocks access to the Treasure Chest holding a new Pink Coin.
Mysterious Puzzle Room 1 Pink Coin Location
As you continue, you’ll encounter a locked Orange Door with a puzzle positioned just to the side. Check the Flowery-shaped sign for hints (though Ralsei will likely prefer you ask him directly). The small board featuring a red dot lets you shift the shadows of two platform pieces across the screen. When you switch into action platforming mode, those shadow platforms become hidden platforms you can climb on. Ralsei also points out an important limitation: you can only jump up three tiles high.
To solve this puzzle, form an L-shape using the shadows. Place the vertical shadow along the left wall and set the horizontal part below the middle of the “T” blank space between the screens. This arrangement lets you jump from the right to reach a ledge where the Orange Key is hidden. There’s more here if you want an extra challenge.
A second, higher section reveals another twist. You can reposition the shadows so they peek into more than one screen. Even though they don’t appear in the “T” negative space, they still generate smaller platforms wherever the shadow overlaps multiple screens at once.
With that in mind, keep the horizontal shadow at the base of the “T.” Then move the vertical shadow so there’s one small tile both at the top right of the lower section and also peeking out at the very top screen. This effectively creates three platforms for you to jump onto from the right side, allowing you to reach a higher ledge on the right. There, a bell holds a Pink Coin.
Train Room Pink Coin Location
The next room features a tall pillar you need to climb. Around you, orange boxing gloves spin in circles and try to punch you off. Even if they don’t deal much damage, they can still be disruptive. You can either attack them directly or stun them using Susie’s ACT before finishing them off to earn some money.
About halfway up, look to the right for another paper screen. Stun the nearby boxing glove and send it into that screen to open a secret passage. Inside, you’ll find paper lanterns. Knock a boxing glove into one lantern to reveal a new Pink Coin. The other lantern drops a tiny train, and jumping onto it leads to… a very strange conversation.
Fox Door Pink Coin Location
Next to the stairs heading north, you’ll notice a locked door that requires you to find five foxes before it can be opened.
Return to the room filled with Terakota statues and start knocking them into pits one by one. One statue in the bottom-right corner should contain a Fox you can collect as you break it open. You don’t necessarily have to push every statue in—unless you’re committed to doing the full thing.
After that, scan the top-left wall for a row of Terakota statues that can’t be pushed into pits. Slide into one of the spaced-out statues from the side to shove it aside, revealing a door behind it. In that room, open a paper sliding door to find the final Fox.
Go back outside, unlock the Fox Door, and you’ll find one last fox that transforms into a Treasure Chest containing a new Pink Coin.
Mysterious Puzzle Room 2 Pink Coin Location
Go up the stairs to the north to reach a large room where Seth is seen talking to a mysterious Orange figure. On the left, there’s another twist involving paper screens and the hazards behind them. Use the nearby structure to switch into action platforming mode, then have Ralsei pull down on the green ring. This pulls down a screen and reveals a platform that was previously missing.
Before moving upward to the right, jump to the left platform to look for an optional puzzle. Like the first Mysterious Puzzle room, this one requires aligning shadow boxes to create climbable platforms.
Switch back to normal exploration mode to interact with the puzzle box. It shows two large shadow boxes spread across four smaller screens. Because of that spacing, you’ll need to stretch some boxes across multiple screens, leaving most of their shape invisible. On top of that, you can pull down a shutter with Ralsei to reveal additional paper screens in the top center—those disappear when you leave action platforming mode.
One possible approach: move the smaller square shadow box to cover the top row of the lowest screen on the left, so the top edge of the shadow box lines up with the bottom of the tiny screen above it. Then move the larger box up so it sits just above the tiny screen, aligned on the right so it extends left into the top-right corner of the screen you can pull down and fully covers the highest screen above it.
If you set it correctly, you can jump up from the right side using the new platforms like stairs. That brings you to a higher area where you can knock down another Flowery Sign and ring a bell holding a new Pink Coin.
Right View Pink Coin Location
After leaving through the door, you’ll be on another exterior balcony. Before going through the far door, go down the stairs into an optional section. Here, a spiked barrier can be removed by grabbing a mushroom and placing it onto the pad on the left.
The second pad is missing its mushroom. You’ll need to trace a route all the way to the right to locate the mushroom sitting in glowing light from a green sunset. The moment you pick it up, though, it turns out it wasn’t a sunset at all—it’s a highly irradiated green fox. It will sprint toward you at high speed, and you’ll have to use the sprint key to race back to the pressure pad and set the mushroom down before the fox eats it and then runs back. Expect to practice and take tight corners, but if you do it right, you’ll unlock access to a Treasure Chest containing one more Pink Coin.
There are only 2 Pink Coins in the Top of the Castle section of Chapter 5’s Dark World.
Castle Top Pink Coin Location
From here, head left before continuing on the main route. This segment demands challenging platforming across a pit lined with thorny roses. You’ll bounce across multiple trampoline flowers—blue ones are easier to time, but the bigger challenge is landing the right bounces on a single flower multiple times as you move left.
When knives appear, don’t panic. They don’t knock you back the way Orange’s Bullet Patterns do, so it’s generally safer to take the hits rather than risk falling to avoid them. Your hitbox is also extremely small, so the knives may look more dangerous than they actually are.
At the halfway point, you’ll spot a ledge you can drop down to—but since it’s a one-way route, it’s best saved for the return trip. Unfortunately, the remaining path to the left is even worse. You’ll need to bounce across yellow trampoline flowers that can send you wildly off course if you don’t hit them dead center.
This part takes more practice than most other zones. You’ll want to strike as close to the top center of each flower as possible to stay airborne, move left along with your bounce arc, and then angle yourself toward one of the three flowers ahead. Once you make it across, your reward is one of the two Pink Coins available in this area.
Pink Door Pink Coin Location
When you return to the right side, use the second trampoline flower to jump over an especially annoying gap. This gets you into the area with a lower opening where you can drop down. You’ll spot the same kind of creature obsessed with cheese again, but when you try to have Susie hit the pinwheel to send it toward the cheese, the ground disappears.
You’ll fall slowly through a gusty chasm lined with sharp roses. Slice away the hazards by focusing on the blue ones as you descend, avoiding cuts. There are also Yellow’s pistols here, firing red rings. You’ll need to drift through those rings by shifting side to side so you can drop at the correct time.
The gusty pit leads to a mysterious Pink Door. Inside is a fast travel door of its own, and it holds the final Pink Coin in the set.
