How to Unlock and Catch Shaolong After Reaching Palworld’s World Tree
After you reach the World Tree in Palworld, Pal Tamers can finally obtain their own Shaolong. You’ll first run into the water-element Pal as a boss inside a tower, and you’ll need to bring it down to continue the main story. Once the Great Tree is available, you can also catch Shaolong the standard way using a Pal sphere—just make sure you wait until you can access the Great Tree before trying to track it down. Here’s where to find Shaolong and how to add it to your team.
On Palpagos Islands, you can hack the Terminals to collect valuable rewards, including Dog Coins.
How To Get Shaolong In Palworld
Go into the World Tree and focus on the southern regions of the map to locate Shaolong in Palword. Getting there isn’t too difficult from the Alluvion Lakefront Great Eagle Statue. When you’re searching, check around the Dualith world boss and the Whalaska Ignis world boss area—Shaolong should show up eventually as you explore those zones.
Even though you’ll fight Shaolong as a boss during the tower encounter, it behaves like a regular enemy once it’s available as a target to catch. More often than not, you’ll spot Shaolong in pairs, though if you find one alone, another will likely be close by.
Lower Shaolong’s HP significantly, then attempt a capture with a sphere. If you have them available, using a Sol Sphere or an Ancient Sphere is recommended.
After you secure Shaolong’s saddle, it becomes a flying mount. If you plan to use it in your base, Shaolong starts with strong watering and gathering capabilities. At rank 0, Shaolong’s attack gains 4% for every Dragon Pal you have equipped in your party. You can raise its rank using a Pal Essence Condenser, which also boosts its attack.
The saddle is unlocked at Technology level 77, and it calls for the following materials:
- Leather
- High Quality Cloth
- Soralite Ingot
- Paladuim Fragment
Once you defeat Auri and Shaolong on Sunreach Island, you can continue the main quest. After that point, you’ll be asked to catch Panthalus as part of the next objective. From there, return to the World Tree and view a cutscene where a giant Pal assists you with gaining entry to a new area.
The World Tree functions as its own separate map, so you can explore it at your own pace before pushing toward the next boss. If you head into the southern parts during your wanderings, you can attempt to catch Shaolong as well. If you plan to bring Shaolong into any upcoming battles, be sure to level it up and improve its stats at the Statue of Power.
