Pokemon GO is rolling out a fresh promo code that hands out free items to celebrate Global GO Fest 2026. July has been packed for the game thanks to its 10th anniversary, a stack of in-game events, and the arrival of new or previously unavailable Pokémon. After a Global GO Fest moment on July 10 reportedly “backfired,” largely because the exclusive Mewtwo was limited to invite-only participants, Niantic is now trying to make amends with more giveaways on July 12 and the day after.

Global GO Fest 2026 centers on free Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, with players able to obtain the Legendary Pokémon through Super Mega Raids. Once you’ve got the Pokémon, you can evolve it using Mega Energy earned via those raids or by finishing the Genetic Mastery Timed Research. That research is available at no cost to everyone until 7 pm local time on July 12 and offers a branching route that leads to either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y.
But this is only part of the plan. Pokemon GO Fest 2026 is being positioned as one of the biggest events the game has run, with additional leaks pointing to a large lineup of special Raids coming during the festivities.
Pokemon GO is Giving Away More Mewtwo Freebies
A new promo code is now live for players who want a straightforward haul: 100 Link Charges and 15 Poke Ball, with no charge required. Before redeeming, make sure you have enough inventory space and that your Link Charges aren’t already maxed out. If you’re not eligible, the game may respond with: “This Gift Card code or promotional code is invalid, or you do not qualify for the promotion.” At the moment, there doesn’t appear to be a clear eligibility requirement beyond the Link Charge storage limitation—if you have full Link Charges, you may be blocked by that message.
This promo is also framed as the first Global GO Fest giveaway code, with another code expected to follow tomorrow. The idea is that tomorrow’s redemption should mirror today’s rewards so players can keep stocking up during the Global GO Fest window.

As for the promo code’s own expiration, it’s currently unclear when (or whether) it ends. Global GO Fest isn’t the only thing running this month.
