HEATTRAP Drops Workout-Ready Baki T-Shirts to Celebrate 35th Anniversary
To mark the Baki franchise’s 35th anniversary, Tokyo sportswear label HEATTRAP has launched workout-ready T-shirts that lean into the series’ hardcore energy—while also promising a “sweat it out” style of training support.
Improve Your Workouts With These New Baki T-Shirts From HEATTRAP
HEATTRAP has announced a new collaboration with the Baki franchise, offering three distinct T-shirt designs featuring different front graphics. The slogan on the shirts translates to “Sweat it out,” and the black version includes a back print focused on impressive, exaggerated muscle detail. The brand has also been known for describing its shirts as “wearable saunas,” since the fabric is designed to encourage sweating and support weight-loss goals—positioning the tees as gym-friendly gear rather than just fan merch.
The shirts come in sizes M, L, XL, and 2XL. Pricing is set at ¥8,778 (about $54), and the collection is available through HEATTRAP’s official online store.
HEATTRAP isn’t the only brand getting in on Baki anniversary merch. In May, streetwear label Subciety released a lineup of five T-shirts inspired by the series, including a design based on Kaoru Hanayama’s signature stance and manga artwork pulled from Chapter 37.
Earlier this year, the Baki the Grappler Exhibition Osaka 2026 took place from April 24 through May 10 to celebrate the franchise’s milestone. Around the same time, fast-food chain McDonald’s also teased a Japan-only Baki crossover in April, featuring the Chicken Tatsuta sandwich as the headline item.
Baki’s Long Run, Anime Reach, and Recent Releases
While the martial arts series has remained a long-standing name in Japan since its debut 35 years ago, many Western fans first encountered Baki through the 2018 Netflix anime adaptation. That adaptation—animated by TMS Entertainment, with involvement from teams associated with Undead Unluck and Yowamushi Pedal—quickly found a large audience drawn to its extreme action, heavy violence, and instantly recognizable (if occasionally grotesque) art direction. Even though the show’s 3D animation received criticism, its strongest moments were enough to bring in a new generation of Baki viewers, and now those fans can express their support through new apparel.
In terms of where the franchise sits among the industry’s biggest hits, Baki remains one of the best-selling manga series ever, with more than 100 million copies sold to date. That places it alongside major titles such as Astro Boy, Fist of the North Star, Hajime no Ippo, and My Hero Academia. Beyond anime, the property has also inspired fighting games and two stage productions in Japan.
The most recent anime entry, Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai, premiered in February 2026.
From Goki Shibukawa to Miyamoto Musashi, these characters are the strongest in the Baki anime.
What to Watch Next: Spring Into Summer 2026 Anime
With the Summer 2026 anime season just getting underway, viewers have plenty of options aimed at action, adventure, and martial arts fans. Returning favorites include Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, while new series such as Black Torch, Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games, and Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life are also set to bring the hype energy.
