Top PvP Guns in SAND: Raiders of Sophie—Revolvers to Rifles Guide

In SAND: Raiders of Sophie, figuring out which guns to bring is every bit as hard as mastering the control of your Trampler. These weapons aren’t modern sidearms—they’re early-20th-century-style revolvers, carbines, shotguns, and rifles—so their handling can feel less than smooth compared to contemporary firefights.

That said, raw performance matters when you’re hunting the best weapons for PvP. This guide breaks down the options worth chasing, so you can take control of the sand and the fights that happen in it.

Tech Tree upgrades are one of the major ways to move your character forward in Sand: Raiders of Sophie—here are the upgrades and how to unlock each one.

Pepper Mill Shotgun

This weapon is built around the classic idea of “one shot, one kill.” The Pepper Mill Shotgun is a strong pick for PvP, especially because boarding enemy Tramplers is a common scenario. When you’re dealing with invaders in cramped interiors, this slug-spewing tool can perform better than many alternatives. It can fire up to three rounds per recharge, making it a solid close-range option for handling different types of threats.

Go for body shots or headshots to drop even well-protected targets quickly. Against heavier protection, such as a Reinforced Jacket with two armor charges, you may need to follow up with a second shot. Even so, landing hits with all pellets is often a guaranteed elimination, which is why this shotgun is so reliable. If anything survives, a follow-up melee strike can finish the job.

1874 Scoped Petros Rifle

For players looking for real precision, the 1874 Scoped Petros Rifle is the standout option. You can find it by opening containers hidden in Suspicious Piles of Sand, or by crafting it at workbenches tucked inside Forts. In terms of power, the Petros Rifle can kill any enemy player with a single shot, but it demands more skill than most rifles to use effectively.

Recoil is heavy, so if you’re not used to realistic weapon behavior, your first successful shot may take some practice. Its ammunition loses effectiveness starting at 250 meters (273 yards), but switching to higher-grade rounds—Green and Blue—improves both handling and effective reach, extending performance to 270 meters and 300 meters, respectively. It’s a strong choice for picking off opponents from long distances.

M 82 Rifle

The non-scoped M82 Rifle functions as a repeating 9mm revolver rifle. It reloads slowly, but it hits hard. While it isn’t especially accurate at close range, it’s at its best for mid and long-distance fights, up to 150 meters.

Finding this in Weapon Boxes is a huge win, and keeping one on hand is one of the best ways to stay ready. It helps you defend yourself from enemies and from players who try to jump your Trampler when you stop to loot a POI.

EB “Bantam” Revolver

The upgraded EB Revolver takes the basic model and adds an American fist attachment on the body, boosting melee damage significantly. This six-shooter can punch through anything directly in front of you—though only within a limited distance—and it comes with average accuracy.

What makes this weapon dangerous is what happens when opponents assume they can outplay you once you’re out of ammunition. With the melee attack, this gun can basically one-shot any player whose armor is already broken, and that’s not something most people expect in the middle of a firefight.

If you want to fight PvP against enemy Tramplers in Sand: Raiders of Sophie, you’ll need to mount cannons on your own Trampler first.

Blitz Pistol

The Blitz Pistol is described as the fastest gun in the game. It’s often overlooked, but it has the quickest recharge animation and can dump a charger even faster. If you like spray-and-pray tactics, this handgun is also strong within a 50-meter range and can be surprisingly effective at damaging enemy players.

Many low-armored enemies won’t last even half a magazine if you can land precise shots. Despite being a small-bore weapon, the Blitz Pistol is unexpectedly accurate for what it is.
