How to Unlock Hangyodon’s Tourist Shop in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
“Playing Tourist” is the first of two Quests you’ll need to start in order to open Hangyodon’s Tourist Shop in Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s City Town area. To begin, you must hit Level 12 at the Imagination Cafe by serving customers, unlock the City Town Theater by completing the Quest chain that ends with “Talent Time,” and fully upgrade Keroppi’s Orchard by finishing “Tree-mendous Tastes.”
Once those requirements are met, you can start the Quest by speaking with My Melody. She’s usually inside her shop called “Small Gift, Big Smile” in Seaside Resort.

Meet My Melody at the Theater
When you talk to My Melody, she explains that she’s preparing a brand-new show for the City Town Theater. She asks you to come meet her inside the Theater. You can reach it by taking the pneumatic pipe on the right side of City Town, or by fast traveling to the Orchard and dropping down one floor.
Inside the Theater, you’ll find My Melody and Pochacco rehearsing for their new performance—turns out it’s a musical titled “Dogs”. Usahana is also there, watching the practice.
Talk to My Melody in the Theater and offer your help. Then Usahana suggests using your camera to photograph Pochacco performing. Take the picture, then speak to My Melody again. This time, Hangyodon arrives and tells My Melody that he wants to assist however he can.
Help Hangyodon Find Plush Pals
My Melody hands Hangyodon a list of materials needed for the show. Head to the outside area of the Theater and talk to Hangyodon there. He tells you to visit My Sweet Piano’s Piano Plush Pals store and collect the Plush Pals listed below, since these are the items you’ll use as ingredients for crafting.
Giraffe Plush Pal
- City Coin x 2 — earned by completing orders at the Imagination Cafe
- Sugarkelp x 2 — a return gift from Keroppi
- Thread x 3 — a return gift from Tuxedosam
- Wool x 5 — a return gift from My Sweet Piano
Banana Plush Pal
- City Coin x 2 — earned by completing orders at the Imagination Cafe
- Banana x 2 — a return gift from Pompompurin
- Thread x 3 — a return gift from Tuxedosam
- Wool x 5 — a return gift from My Sweet Piano
Avocado Plush Pal x 2
- City Coin x 4 — earned by completing orders at the Imagination Cafe
- Candlenut x 4 — a return gift from Hangyodon
- Thread x 6 — a return gift from Tuxedosam
- Wool x 10 — a return gift from My Sweet Piano
After buying the Plush Pals, you’re required to customize the color or pattern for each one using the Plush Customizer inside the Piano Plush Pals shop. You can choose any color or pattern you want, but you must make at least one change to every Plush Pal.
When you’re finished customizing, talk to Hangyodon to confirm you’ve completed this step.
Help Hangyodon Find Music
Next, Hangyodon needs help obtaining music from Pekkle’s Music Shop so My Melody and Pochacco can perform. Pekkle’s shop is located on a street corner near the exact center of City Town.
When you talk to Pekkle at the Music Shop, he tells you he’s thirsty and will trade you the music you need in exchange for Tropical Boba. Go to the Imagination Cafe and craft Tropical Boba at the Chef’s Station using the ingredients below:
Tropical Boba
- 1 x Tea Leaves — purchased with City Coins at the Imagination Cafe PC
- 1 x Tapioca — purchased with City Coins at the Imagination Cafe PC
- 1 x one of the following
- Pineapple (picked in Seaside Resort)
- Coconut (found on the beaches of Seaside Resort, Spooky Swamp, and Gemstone Mountain)
- Kiwi or Mango (picked from trees in Keroppi’s Orchard)
Bring the finished Tropical Boba back to Pekkle, who remains at the Music Shop. In return, he gives you the Music CD titled Day Dream Days (Base Mix).
After that, enter the Theater and speak to Hangyodon. He reports back to My Melody that the two of you have wrapped up your tasks. It turns out My Melody and Pochacco have decided not to stage “Dogs” after all—but My Melody still wants to thank her helpers with gifts.
Give the Plush Pals to My Melody. She reacts by revealing that the second Avocado Plush Pal is actually a gift for you as a thank-you for all your hard work. You get to keep that one.
The Quest ends here, but Hangyodon has more plans in motion—he wants to sell City Town souvenirs, and you’ll be asked to help make it happen next.
