Raphinha Brace Powers Barcelona to 5-1 Champions League Win Over Feyenoord

Barcelona opened their Champions League campaign with a 5-1 win over Feyenoord at Camp Nou on Wednesday, extending an extraordinary scoring start to the season led by Raphinha.

Barcelona make another fast start

1. Raphinha scored twice while operating through the centre, taking his total for the season to eight goals.
2. His goals against Feyenoord meant he had scored in each of Barcelona’s opening five matches, a feat no Barcelona player had managed since at least 2000.
3. Karim Adeyemi, signed during the summer, added a first-half goal with a curling finish.
4. Lamine Yamal scored once and supplied two assists, bringing his Barcelona total to 101 goal contributions.
5. Gabriel Jesus completed the scoring with a header shortly after entering as a substitute, his first Barcelona goal since arriving from Arsenal.

Historic attacking numbers

Raphinha’s eight-goal opening is Barcelona’s best individual return across the first five fixtures of a season since Robert Lewandowski’s start in 2022-23.

The Feyenoord result was also the fourth occasion in five matches that Barcelona had scored five times. The Catalan side have struck 22 goals overall, their highest total at this point of a campaign since 1950.

Barcelona’s goal difference now stands at plus 19, their strongest figure after five games since 1926.
