Pulisic Leads AC Milan to Comfortable 3-0 Serie A Win Over Lecce
AC Milan extended their unbeaten Serie A opening with a controlled 3-0 win over Lecce at San Siro, as Ruben Amorim’s side combined early incision with a dominant second-half display. Christian Pulisic gave Milan the lead in the 14th minute, Adrien Rabiot added a second after the interval and Diego Moreira struck soon after arriving from the bench.

Milan established control quickly and took their first clear opening when Pulisic finished a move created by centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic. The defender stepped out from the back to supply the final pass for the American, whose strike put the home side ahead inside the opening quarter-hour.
Lecce attempted to threaten on transitions, but Milan’s three-man defence dealt comfortably with the visitors’ attacks. The captain in goal was required to make three saves and organised a back line that did not concede a clear-cut chance. Pavlovic combined his assist with an imposing defensive performance, while his fellow centre-backs kept their shape well and helped the team register 10 clearances.
The young Spanish defender was particularly composed in possession and forceful in his duels alongside Pavlovic. Milan’s wing-backs also supplied width without compromising the defensive balance: the right-sided player remained involved until being withdrawn in the 87th minute, while the left wing-back worked diligently in both directions before his final-quarter substitution.
Rabiot’s influence in midfield was decisive. The Frenchman controlled the rhythm of the game before making the result more secure in the 61st minute, arriving to finish after Milan’s centre-forward had held the ball up and created the opportunity. Although the striker did not score, his link play and physical work were important in the move for the second goal.
Alongside Rabiot, the veteran midfielder dictated possession for 76 minutes as Milan approached 70 per cent of the ball. He was replaced by Yunus Musah for the closing stages, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek entered during the second half for the Belgian attacking midfielder, who had connected play effectively between the lines without finding a decisive final pass.
Pulisic remained Milan’s most direct threat until his 69th-minute exit. Moreira replaced him and made an immediate contribution, scoring Milan’s third only four minutes later to remove any remaining uncertainty from the contest.
Amorim’s changes helped Milan close out the match without difficulty. Musah added fresh energy in midfield, the substitute introduced alongside Moreira brought greater physicality and retained possession, while Pervis Estupinan was used late to reinforce the defensive side. Samuel Chukwueze also made a brief late appearance.
Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system gave Milan numerical security at the back and control through midfield, while allowing Pulisic and the other attacking players to find space around Lecce’s defence. The result was a comfortable San Siro night, built on efficiency in front of goal and a disciplined clean sheet.
