Michael Olise’s Stunning Start Fuels Bayern Munich’s Trophy Push
Michael Olise has made a rapid start to the new season for Bayern Munich, scoring eight goals in seven appearances across all competitions after delivering 22 goals and 31 assists in 52 matches last term.
Why Olise’s form matters for Bayern
Bayern have quickly come to rely on the 24-year-old’s production as they pursue success in Germany and Europe. His early return follows an already exceptional first full campaign, in which he contributed directly to 53 goals in all competitions.
| Period | Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Vincent Kompany has offered an emphatic assessment of Olise’s standing, describing the Bayern attacker as a world-class player without hesitation.
“Is he already world-class? Yes, clearly. Without a doubt,” Kompany said. “A player with Michael Olise’s talent would always end up becoming one of the best. It is not just his talent, but also his mentality and his attention to detail.”
The Bayern coach pointed in particular to Olise’s ability to read situations before other players, including during training sessions. Kompany believes that instinct and awareness set the Frenchman apart at the highest level.
“He always sees things that others do not see, even in training,” Kompany added. “That is what makes him a special player in world football. Our role is not to transform a player into a world star, that is impossible. He already has all of that inside him.”
Olise’s numbers have placed him among Bayern’s most influential attacking figures, but Kompany has also made clear that the challenge is to preserve the appetite that has driven his rise. The manager wants the forward to keep pushing his level through the rest of the campaign.
“The most important thing is that he keeps this hunger to progress,” Kompany said.
The standard to maintain
Bayern’s domestic and European ambitions will require Olise to sustain his current output over a far longer run of fixtures. His next task is to extend the scoring sequence while maintaining the focus and detail that Kompany believes have carried him to elite status.
