Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City Track Feyenoord Full-Back Givairo Read

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are keeping close watch on Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read, with the 20-year-old’s early-season form placing him among the most closely followed young defenders ahead of the January window.

Read has supplied four assists across seven Eredivisie matches for Feyenoord and remains a Netherlands Under-21 international. Nottingham Forest and Roma both made proposals worth about €20 million in the summer, although neither move materialised. Liverpool, Arsenal and City have continued to follow his development, and a winter transfer could become possible if one of the interested clubs makes a formal approach.

United assess Guirassy and Rajkovic

Manchester United are examining Borussia Dortmund forward Serhou Guirassy as they consider their attacking options for January. The 30-year-old is viewed as an experienced alternative if Joshua Zirkzee leaves, while the club’s commitment to Benjamin Šeško remains intact despite the striker’s recent injury problems.

Dortmund do not want to sell Guirassy, whose deal has fewer than two years left to run. That contract situation could nevertheless become significant if United decide to advance their interest.

United are also tracking Vålerenga winger Gabriel Rajkovic, 15, as they seek a possible replacement for JJ Gabriel.

Barcelona monitor Brazilian defender

Barcelona have added Athletico Paranaense centre-back Arthur Dias to their scouting plans. João Amaral, the club’s head of scouting, watched the 19-year-old in a match against Bahia.

Dias, a left-footed defender who has received a Brazil call-up from Carlo Ancelotti, is also attracting attention from Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Atlético Madrid. His valuation is understood to be around €30 million. Tottenham previously had an offer of €21 million for 80% of his economic rights turned down.

Barcelona are also working on a new contract for midfielder Marc Bernal that would include a €500 million release clause. Raphinha, meanwhile, wants to stay at the club as talks continue over an extension beyond June 2028. Interest from Saudi Arabia is regarded as the principal potential complication in those negotiations.

Free-agent opportunities in Italy and Germany

Tottenham will not pursue former Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi, who has been without a club since July. The 33-year-old’s salary expectations and absence of Premier League experience have counted against a Spurs move.

A return to Serie A appears the most likely next step for Icardi, whose previous clubs include Sampdoria, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. Lazio are among the Italian sides considering him.

Roma are looking at Raphaël Guerreiro as an option for Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad. The 32-year-old Portugal international, formerly of Bayern Munich, would provide a natural left-footed player on the flank. Olympiacos are also interested in the free-agent defender.

Union Berlin are exploring the prospect of signing David Alaba, 34, following the former Real Madrid defender’s departure. Alaba is also available as a free agent.

Premier League clubs widen their recruitment plans

Arsenal and Chelsea have Feyenoord midfielder Gjivai Zechiel, 22, on their respective radars. Arsenal are additionally considering a January approach for Brentford attacker Kevin Schade after his strong opening to the campaign.

Juventus, AC Milan, Al Ahli and Al Ittihad are monitoring Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres, whose start to the season has been subdued.

Liverpool may turn to Benfica’s 18-year-old right-back Daniel Banjaqui if they do not complete a €55 million permanent transfer for Ronald Araujo once the Barcelona defender’s loan ends.

Chelsea are following Conrad Harder’s progress at Strasbourg, with the 21-year-old forward seen as a possible future addition from the club’s sister side.

Newcastle intend to recruit both a young centre-back and a right-sided attacker in January or subsequent windows. The club are also among those who have shown interest in Arthur Dias.

Manchester City sent a scout to watch Porto midfielder Victor Froholdt during Porto’s meeting with Benfica.

Developing targets across Europe and South America

Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa are monitoring Club Nacional centre-back Mauro Coronel. The 18-year-old is due to be out of contract in December.

The Red Bull network and Getafe are interested in Chile Under-20 midfielder Vicente Vargas. Hull City, meanwhile, are considering a move for Frosinone winger Giorgi Kvernadze.

Internazionale midfielder Aleksandar Stanković could seek a January exit, potentially on loan, should his lack of minutes persist.
