Harry Kane Expects Bayern Munich Contract Agreement Within a Month
Harry Kane expects his Bayern Munich future to be settled within the next month, with the England captain optimistic that negotiations over a new long-term contract will end in an agreement.
The 32-year-old said discussions with the German champions had remained constructive and unhurried while he was away with England. Kane indicated that both he and Bayern were comfortable with the direction of the talks, adding that a decision should arrive over the coming weeks and that he anticipated a favourable outcome.
Barcelona, currently top of La Liga, have been keeping watch on Kane’s situation as his existing Bayern deal moves into its final nine months. Yet the striker has made clear that he is settled in Munich, both on the pitch and in his life away from football, following his €120m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.
His case for a renewed deal is overwhelming. Kane reached 100 Bundesliga goals during Bayern’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin last week, becoming the quickest player to reach that total in the division’s history. The landmark came 49 years after the previous record was established, while Kane’s overall Bayern record stands at 152 goals from 154 appearances.
For now, his attention is with England and a Nations League programme featuring Spain, Czechia and Croatia. Kane has defended the side’s approach amid debate over whether England should play with the same possession-heavy style associated with Spain.
He believes England’s recent tournament record deserves greater recognition, arguing that the squad have a clear identity under Gareth and Thomas. Kane pointed to the group’s unity, physical strength and power, while accepting that England have not always displayed those qualities in the decisive moments of major tournaments.
