Gabriel Jesus Scores on Barcelona Home Debut in 5-1 Feyenoord Rout
Gabriel Jesus marked his first Champions League appearance for Barcelona with a goal on his Camp Nou debut as the Spanish side swept Feyenoord aside 5-1. The Brazilian, appearing for only the second time since joining from Arsenal, came on late and headed in Lamine Yamal’s delivery with his first involvement in front of the home support.

Barcelona extended their strong European run with a five-goal performance built on attacking quality across the front line. Raphinha scored twice, while Karim Adeyemi and Yamal each produced eye-catching finishes before Jesus completed the scoring.

Jesus savours a long-imagined Camp Nou moment
The forward said the experience of scoring for Barcelona at Camp Nou took him back to the emotion of his first senior goal.
“It felt like scoring my first goal as a professional again,” Jesus said. “To score my first goal at a packed Camp Nou was something I had pictured, and it has happened in only my second match for Barcelona.”
His strike took him to 27 Champions League goals, placing him level with Rivaldo among Brazil’s leading scorers in the competition. Rivaldo, like Jesus, represented both Palmeiras and Barcelona during his career.
Jesus has now moved ahead of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, who has 26 Champions League goals and is expected to remain out until 2027 while recovering from knee surgery.
A Brazilian landmark and unfinished European ambition
Jesus described Rivaldo as both an exceptional player and a Barcelona idol, adding that he was proud to be mentioned alongside Brazilian figures who have made their mark in the Champions League across different eras.
The competition remains a major target for the former Manchester City and Arsenal striker. He was on the losing side when City were beaten by Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final, and Arsenal later lost a penalty shoot-out to Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest last May.
“I enjoy this competition enormously,” Jesus said. “Last season I came close, and I hope this year brings a different outcome.”
